Inside Robinsons: PH5

June 23, 2016

Making waves in the ultra-competitive womenswear industry, PH5 has been redefining contemporary knitwear for the modern woman. Known for its fresh, playful, and artistic style, we chat with founder Wei Lin and Creative Director Mijia Zhang on all things PH5.

1. Tell us what separates your clothes from other labels?

Wei Lin & Mijia: We specialize in novelty knitwear. Our designs are more playful and also technical than most contemporary brands out there.

2. Who or what are your fashion muses?

Wei Lin & Mijia: As we are targeting independent and well-traveled young professionals, someone like Emma Watson inspires us.

3. How did you get into fashion design (for Mijia)?
What made you decide to start your label (for Wei Lin)?

Mijia: I studied art and painting since a young age. It was a natural progression for me to go to Parsons and follow my passion for art and fashion design.

Wei Lin: Having got my bachelor’s degree in finance and entrepreneurship in the States, it was always in me to start my own business. Creating a fashion label made the most sense because of my family business background.

4. Tell us what you hope your brand achieves in Singapore?

Wei Lin: Singapore offers the perfect mix of Eastern and Western cultural influences. If PH5 does well in Singapore, we can do well in any other culture. I am super flattered to hear that our best-selling piece at Robinsons is also the most unique piece from the SS16 collection.

5. What do you want to say to your fans in Singapore?

Wei Lin & Mijia: Thank you everyone for supporting us so far. Keep a lookout for our upcoming seasons! We’re sure you’ll like them.

PH5 is now at Robinsons The Heeren!
